[Saba Sports News] Former Pakistan cricket player Hasan Raza has made recent headlines by suggesting that the International Cricket Council (ICC) should examine the balls provided to the Indian team for their matches in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Raza’s comments came after India easily defeated South Africa, during which he highlighted the dismissal of Rassie van der Dussen by Ravindra Jadeja.
Raza expressed his belief that the Indian team may be manipulating the Decision Review System (DRS) technology. He pointed out a specific instance where Jadeja took five wickets, and during discussions about the DRS, Raza questioned the legitimacy of the decision to dismiss van der Dussen, as the ball seemed to hit the middle stump after pitching on the leg stump.
He emphasized that he was sharing his opinion and called for a closer examination of such incidents, suggesting that there is evidence of DRS manipulation. Raza also claimed that this wasn’t the first time he had doubts about a DRS decision, citing previous instances in matches between India and Pakistan during the 2023 World Cup and even back in India’s 2011 World Cup victory.
Raza noted that during the review of the Pakistan vs. South Africa match and a critical last-wicket partnership, there was no acknowledgment or apology for any discrepancies. He also suggested that home conditions and advantages might be influencing such situations.
Looking ahead, Team India, after their convincing win over South Africa in the 2023 ODI World Cup, is scheduled to face the Netherlands in the 45th game of the tournament on Sunday, November 12.
