[Saba Sports News] This
summer, Saudi football launched a financial offensive, spending nearly $900
million on transfers. World-class players like Karim Benzema and Neymar joined,
making the Saudi league the most watched league in the world. However, the
Saudi Arabian Football Federation is not satisfied with this and, in a meeting
held midweek, discussed increasing the number of foreign players allowed. They
intend to raise the current limit of 8 foreign players to 10. The Saudi Arabian
Football Federation believes that if local players consistently train and play
alongside top stars from the world’s top five leagues, the level of local
players will naturally improve.
