[Saba Sports News] The Miraj Group has initiated the construction of a new cricket stadium in Udaipur, capturing attention with social media footage showcasing the ongoing development. Located at Kanpur Kheda, the stadium is designed to host up to 50,000 spectators and represents a significant investment of approximately 200 crore rupees by the firm. Upon its completion, it is poised to become Rajasthan’s second-largest cricket venue, with aspirations to host international cricket matches, further establishing Udaipur as a burgeoning cricketing center in the state. Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, with his roots in the royal family of Mewar and previous leadership roles in the Udaipur District Cricket Association, has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
The Udaipur Cricket Stadium will feature state-of-the-art international facilities, including twelve pitches made from black soil and additional practice nets. This addition aims to elevate the city’s status in cricket, aligning with Jaipur and Jodhpur’s existing premier floodlit cricket facilities but with an emphasis on a world-class outfield and accommodations.
The Rajasthan Cricket Association’s project brief outlines an integrated cricket stadium conforming to international standards, costing an estimated 200 Crore rupees and spreading over 26.20 acres. The comprehensive plan includes a main cricket ground, practice areas, retail spaces, a clubhouse, and other essential amenities designed to serve sports professionals, training programs, sports organizations, amateurs, and the local community. The clubhouse, in particular, is intended to become a focal point for community engagement.
