Sports News] Italian media reports indicate that the arbitration committee will
reach a verdict on Cristiano Ronaldo’s lawsuit against Juventus for unpaid
wages in the coming week. Ronaldo represented Juventus from 2018 to 2021.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Juventus players agreed to a salary reduction.
However, Ronaldo claims that Juventus had privately assured the players that
they would receive compensation for the reduced wages once the pandemic
subsided. After failing to secure a payment of 19.5 million euros from
Juventus, Ronaldo appealed to the arbitration committee, seeking the payment of
his outstanding wages. The deadline for the arbitration committee to issue a
ruling in this case is reported to be April 22. However, the investigation has
progressed swiftly, and it is expected that a decision will be reached next
week, with the results available within ten days at most. Currently, Juventus
has not allocated funds from the risk fund to cover potential compensation. If
the ruling falls in Ronaldo’s favor, Juventus will be required to deduct the
amount from the club’s regular account, which is responsible for transfers and
daily operations.
