[Saba Sports News] Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is facing a tough start to the IPL 2024, winning only one of their initial four games. Led by Faf du Plessis, RCB began with a defeat to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) but managed a victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their next game. However, they couldn’t sustain the winning streak at their home venue, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, suffering defeats against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
While RCB’s performance has disappointed many fans, former Indian cricketer Atul Wassan expressed satisfaction over the team’s struggles, wishing them to lose all their matches. His controversial stance is attributed to his resentment towards Virat Kohli for not including his childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, in RCB’s coaching staff.
“I want RCB to lose all the matches and end at the bottom of the points table; Virat Kohli has been there in a setup since 2008, there’ve been a lot of coaches of RCB but he never took his coach [Rajukumar Sharma] to RCB, so that’s why I always want RCB to lose,” said Atul Wassan on India News.
Wassan publicly voiced his desire for RCB to finish last, linking his disapproval to Kohli’s longstanding association with the team and decisions regarding coaching staff. Despite RCB’s challenges, Kohli has stood out as the season’s leading run-scorer, amassing 316 runs in five innings with an impressive average and strike rate, including a century and two fifties. His performance was highlighted by a stellar century against Rajasthan Royals, contributing significantly to RCB’s total in that match.
