[Saba Sports News] Patrick Beverley recently shared his humorous perspective on the recent incident involving Giannis Antetokounmpo’s game ball. Last week, Antetokounmpo made Milwaukee Bucks history by scoring 64 points in their 140-126 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Post-game, Antetokounmpo was eager to find the game ball as a keepsake, even rushing to the Pacers’ tunnel in his search.
Beverley, the Philadelphia 76ers guard, commented on his podcast, “The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone,” that if he had been on the receiving end of such a performance, his reaction would have been quite extreme. He humorously stated that he would have been so irritated by Antetokounmpo’s success that he would have destroyed the ball, comparing it to peeling an orange.
Beverley also reflected on the dramatic nature of the NBA, expressing his enthusiasm for the league’s entertainment value. His comments, shared in a video clip, were laced with strong language. “I would’ve poked a hole in that b–ch. Beat me? Put 60 on me? Yeah, you can have this ball. Then I thought about it. I would’ve pealed that b–ch like an orange,” Beverley said.
It’s clear from Beverley’s remarks that he has no intention of celebrating an opponent’s achievement at his expense.
