[Saba Sports News] Indian Railways has introduced a special train service from New Delhi to Ahmedabad on Saturday, catering specifically to cricket enthusiasts heading to the Cricket World Cup 2023 final. This initiative provides a much-needed alternative to the exorbitant airfares, which were between Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000.
The final, a much-awaited clash between India and Australia, is scheduled for Sunday, November 19, at the renowned Narendra Modi Stadium. Offering a more economical travel option, the train’s ticket prices are considerably lower than air travel, with sleeper class at Rs 620 and first AC at Rs 3490. Additionally, 3AC economy and 3AC tickets are available at Rs 1525 and Rs 1665, respectively. The train is set to leave Delhi in the evening, arriving in Ahmedabad the next morning, and will return from Ahmedabad at 2:30 am after the game.
To further support the influx of fans, three additional trains are running between Mumbai and Ahmedabad for this event.
Amidst the mounting excitement, cricket legends such as Sourav Ganguly and Michael Bevan have weighed in on the anticipated match. Ganguly, India’s former captain, asserts that India will be tough to beat if they maintain their current form. In contrast, Bevan, the ex-Australian cricketer, labels India as the favorites but doesn’t rule out Australia’s chances, highlighting the need for their batting improvement and the crucial role of the toss in this pivotal game.
In a recent update, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is confirmed to attend the final as a guest of honor. An avid cricket fan, Modi was among the first to applaud India’s commanding victory over New Zealand, marking their fourth appearance in an ODI World Cup final.
