[Saba Sports News] Fake news about Team India and Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s social media tribute to Virat Kohli swept across social media, misleading many cricket fans on X.
The rumor started after Chahal posted an affectionate message on Instagram following RR’s match against RCB, saying, “You will always be my Virat Bhaiya,” alongside a photo of them embracing. This post quickly received nearly 1.5 million likes.
However, the controversy arose from a fan’s false claim on X, stating that Chahal’s heartfelt post boosted his Instagram followers from 9.4 million to over 19 million, surpassing Bollywood celebrities Malaika Arora and Diljit Dosanjh. This was proven incorrect as Chahal’s follower count remained at 9.4 million.
Despite the social media confusion, Virat Kohli’s performance has been stellar, leading the 2024 IPL run charts with 316 runs at an average of 105.33 and a strike rate of 146.29. Kohli’s consistent excellence has sparked discussions about his strike rate, especially after a slower-paced century against RR, matching the IPL’s joint-slowest hundred.
