[Saba Sports News] Former first-round pick Kai Jones is set to rejuvenate his NBA career with a new multi-year contract. He’s currently finalizing terms with the Los Angeles Clippers, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic. This deal not only integrates him into the team but also places him on the playoff roster in time for the Clippers’ postseason push.
Jones’s opportunity with the Clippers follows a recent 10-day stint with the Philadelphia 76ers, during which he didn’t play in any games. Selected as the No. 19 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Jones initially showed potential with the Charlotte Hornets over two seasons. However, issues off the court led to his release, casting doubt on his future in the league.
The Clippers, however, believe he has addressed these issues and are ready to invest in his future. Jones himself has recently spoken about overcoming his challenges and is focused on making a successful NBA comeback.
