[Saba Sports News] The Indian cricket team has arrived in Mumbai for their high-stakes semifinal match against New Zealand in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, set to take place at the Wankhede Stadium. Social media videos captured several players, including KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Ravichandran Ashwin, along with the support staff, heading to their bus at the Mumbai airport. Notably, Ravindra Jadeja was accompanied by his wife, Rivaba Jadeja. However, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Mohammed Siraj were absent in the footage.
Team India has been exceptional in the tournament, winning all nine league stage games, including a resounding victory over the Netherlands in their last group match at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on November 12.
In that match, India, led by Rohit Sharma, chose to bat first. Sharma and Shubman Gill started strong with a 100-run partnership. Although Gill was dismissed for 51, Sharma continued with Kohli, scoring 61. Kohli also hit a half-century, contributing to India’s commanding position.
Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul then took over, both scoring centuries, leading India to their highest total of the tournament – 410 runs, with Iyer unbeaten on 128 and Rahul scoring 102.
The Indian bowling attack, featuring Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja, each taking two wickets, dismantled the Netherlands, who were all out for 250. Kohli and Rohit also contributed with a wicket each.
