[Saba Sports News] Jordan Clarkson, who began his NBA journey in a major market, could be on his way to another big city.
Marc Stein, a seasoned NBA journalist, recently reported on his Substack that the New York Knicks are interested in Utah Jazz guard Clarkson as the trade deadline approaches. Stein also mentioned the Knicks’ interest in other guards they’ve previously been connected with, including Malcolm Brogdon (Portland), Terry Rozier (Charlotte), and Alec Burks (Detroit).
Clarkson, the 2021 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, is performing well this season at 31, averaging 17.9 points and a career-best 5.2 assists per game as a reserve. He has a contract through 2026, earning a reasonable $14.1 million annually for the next two seasons. Clarkson also shares a past with current Knicks star Julius Randle, as both started with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Knicks are looking for a sixth man with scoring ability, particularly after trading Immanuel Quickley to Toronto in the OG Anunoby deal. Clarkson could join other key bench players like Miles McBride (a point guard) and Josh Hart (a forward). The Knicks might offer Utah a trade package centered around a promising young player they’re currently considering trading.
