[Saba Sports News] India batter Shreyas Iyer is coming back to the Indian domestic circuit as he will be featuring in the second round of the Ranji Trophy 2024, playing the match against Andhra Pradesh, commencing on January 12.
Iyer had a disappointing Test series versus South Africa, registering the scores of 31, 6, 0 and 4*. He will next don the Indian jersey for the much-awaited England Test series, starting January 25 in Hyderabad.
The Ranji Trophy match will serve as an ideal preparation for Iyer as he expects to shine again in the Test fold after making his comeback from the back injury.
Although the 29-year-old had an outstanding ODI World Cup 2023, scoring 530 runs in 11 innings, he failed to retain his place in the T20I side as he has been dropped for the Afghanistan series.
