[Saba Sports News] India have made two changes in their playing XI for the second Test of the ongoing series versus South Africa, scheduled at the Newlands in Cape Town.
Ravindra Jadeja is back to full fitness and as expected, he has been drafted into the XI straightway in place of Ravichandran Ashwin, who did not play much of a role in the previous match.
India are going in with an extra specialist pacer in the form of Mukesh Kumar, dropping bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur at his expense. Shardul had a pretty ordinary game in Centurion both with bat and ball, leading the Indian team management to try a different combination as they play with a bowling-heavy line-up.
The rest of the XI remains the same. As for South Africa, they have added Tristan Stubbs, Keshav Maharaj and Lungi Ngidi in their XI. Keegan Petersen has been dropped, while Temba Bavuma and Gerald Coetzee have caught injuries.
India lost the Centurion Test by an innings and 32 runs. They are 0-1 down and can only only draw the two-match series at best.
Moreover, they have never won a Test series in the Rainbow Nation. Rohit Sharma and Co. have again failed to breach the fortress.
India Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar
