[Saba Sports News] As the World Cup caravan keeps on rolling, Match No.6 will present the clash between New Zealand and the Netherlands.
The two teams will square off at the Rajiv International Stadium in Hyderabad.
While the Netherlands had to take a beating at the hands of Pakistan on Friday, New Zealand rollicked to a comfortable nine-wicket versus England in the tournament opener.
The likes of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra knocked England into a cocked hat with their unbeaten centuries. The duo led a record 273-run stand as the England pacers searched for answers throughout the innings.
There was no flaw in their bowling either. Matt Henry, Mitchell Santner and Trent Boult ruled the roost, and to go a step further, Glenn Phillips, a part-time off-spinner, formed a web around the England batting line-up, taking down two of their big names, Moeen Ali and Joe Root.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson will not participate in the Netherlands clash as he is still undergoing rehabilitation for his knee surgery. Tom Latham will continue to lead the team in his absence.
However, the Black Caps will be bolstered by the returns of Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson, who will make their pace attack even more menacing.
This also gives birth to a problem of plenty. Now that Ravindra has become New Zealand’s trump card, his place in the playing XI is almost certain, meaning there is only one spot left for Southee or Ferguson.
Coming to the prediction, New Zealand should not face much trouble in getting past the Netherlands challenge. If they win, they will extend their lead at the top of the points table.
