[Saba Sports News] The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ended their tiff with speedster Haris Rauf, granting him a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League (BBL), commencing on December 7.
Ever since Rauf’s last-minute pull-out from the Test squad for the series versus Australia, both parties were apparently at the loggerheads. The PCB Director of Cricket-cum head coach Mohammad Hafeez and chief selector Wahab Riaz disparaged the pacer for his lack of commitment towards Pakistan cricket.
It was also reported that the PCB might not give the NOC to Rauf to participate in the BBL 2023-24. However, as confirmed by the board, it has issued the NOCs to three Pakistan players, namely Zaman Khan, Usama Mir and Rauf to play in the 13th edition of the BBL.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued no-objection certificates (NOC) to fast bowlers Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan and leg-spinner Usama Mir for the Big Bash League 2023-24. The board has issued the NOCs considering the workload of players and the future tours programme of the national men’s team,” the PCB informed via a statement.
While Mir and Rauf will represent the Melbourne Stars in the league, Zaman will don the Sydney Thunder jersey.
Although the PCB has cleared the way for the trio to participate in the BBL, there is a catch. All of these players will only be available until December 28 for their respective teams as the PCB has cited the workload management behind their decision.
This means that Mir and Rauf can feature in a maximum of five matches, while Zaman could only get to play four games at max.
