[Saba Sports News] India batter Suryakumar Yadav continued to make merry in T20 cricket. Being the stand-in captain for India in the ongoing series against South Africa, Suryakumar led from the front, smashing his fourth T20I century in Johannesburg.
Asked to bat first in the third and final T20I of the series, Suryakumar came out to bat early as India’s first two wickets fell in only the third over of the innings.
With Suryakumar’s arrival at the crease, India gained impetus as he straightaway took the attack to the bowlers. However, the 33-year-old struggled a bit in the middle overs before teeing off and eventually completing his fourth T20I century.
With this, he also became to the batter to smash the joint-most T20I hundreds (4), equaling the record also held by India’s Rohit Sharma and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell.
Interestingly, all of Suryakumar’s tons in T20Is have come in four different countries – India, England, New Zealand and South Africa.
Apart from Suryakumar’s knock, Yashasvi Jaiswal too played a fine innings of 60 runs as India posted a total 201 runs in 20 overs.
