[Saba Sports News] Uttar Pradesh pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar made a stunning comeback to the first-class cricket, making an instant impact with his seam and swing on a green-top at the Green Park, Kanpur.
In the round 2 match of Ranji Trophy 2024 between Uttar Pradesh and Bengal, the visitors opted to bowl first, making full use of the pace-friendly surface. Mohammed Kaif (4), Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (3) and Ishan Porel (2) all contributed with wickets as Uttar Pradesh were blown away at a total of 60 runs.
Although the Uttar Pradesh bowlers had a herculean task in front of themselves, Bhuvneshwar, who last played a Test match in 2018, used his experience to keep his side in the game.
By the end of the day’s play, Bengal’s scored read 95/5. All of the wickets which fell were taken by Bhuvneshwar, who claimed a fifer, his 12th in first-class cricket.
The 33-year-old broke the back of Bengal’s batting line-up, dismissing Sourav Paul (13), Sudip Kumar Gharami (0), Anustup Majumdar (12), Manoj Tiwary (3) and Abhishek Porel (12).
