[Saba Sports News] Pakistan’s Babar Azam is all set to step foot in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as he is expected to feature in the clash scheduled between Rangpur Riders and Sylhet Strikers on January 23 in Dhaka.
Babar found back his mojo while playing in the T20I series against New Zealand. He scored consecutive fifties in the first three fixtures, ending as the second-leading run-scorer with 213 runs in five matches.
Rangpur Riders coach Sohel Islam talked about Babar’s availability, stating that the 29-year-old will be most likely featuring in the side’s playing XI on Tuesday.
“The chances of playing the match are very high and he will hopefully play the match. We already planned his role and decided where he will play. It is definitely good for the team,” Sohel said as quoted by Cricfrenzy.
Apart from Babar, two more Pakistani players will play in the 10th edition of the BPL. Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Wasim Jr. will represent Comilla Victorians and Khulna Tigers respectively.
Shaheen Shah Afridi has received the NOC to play in the ILT20 2024.
Mohmmad Haris had arrived in Dhaka for the BPL but he was sent back to Pakistan as the PCB denied him the NOC because he had already participated in two leagues between July 2023 to July 2024.
