Sports News] Recent sightings of Alf-Inge Haaland, the father of Premier League
Manchester City star Erling Haaland, at a renowned restaurant in Barcelona have
sparked speculation in Spanish media. Accompanied by his wife, their presence
has fueled discussions about a potential connection to the La Liga team,
Barcelona. According to rumors, Barcelona intends to make a move for Haaland in
the summer of 2026, aligning with their plans for him to serve as chairman of
the club at that time. This coincides with the completion of the Nokan Golf
Course. Earlier, English media had reported on Haaland’s contract with
Manchester City, revealing a termination clause worth €200 million that will
become effective in 2024. This termination clause holds significance for
Premier League players as it allows activation by teams outside the league. Currently,
Haaland, along with Kevin de Bruyne, is one of the highest-paid stars in the
Premier League, with a weekly salary of £375,000. It is noteworthy that this
amount can potentially increase through bonuses tied to individual and team
performance.
