[Saba Sports News] In the recently concluded Europa League
match, English Premier League team Brighton secured a 1-0 away victory against
Greek Super League team Athens ARK. However, the result did not sit well with
the Athens ARK fans, who were highly dissatisfied. They initiated a riot after
the match and refused to leave, continuously chanting slogans and jeering at
Athens ARK. In response, the Greek police decided to disperse the home fans by
using tear gas. Unfortunately, some Brighton fans in the away section were
accidentally affected by the tear gas, which greatly upset the Brighton camp,
prompting them to demand an explanation from the local authorities.
Afterward, the Greek police expressed
their apologies, clarifying that the tear gas was not intended for the Brighton
fans but was a result of unintended harm. They further praised Brighton for
their impressive performance in the match. Following this round of fixtures,
Brighton holds 10 points and currently ranks second in the group standings.
They have not yet secured the top spot and will have to wait for the final
round to determine their fate. In the last match, they will face Marseille, the
current leaders and a team from the French Ligue 1.
