[Saba Sports News] Milwaukee Bucks’ Malik Beasley, typically a role player, made some surprisingly bold comments this week.
In an interview with Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, Beasley confidently spoke about the Indiana Pacers, a team emerging as a rival. “I know we’re going to play them in the playoffs, and boy, it’s not going to be pretty for them,” Beasley asserted.
Although he did praise Indiana players like Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, and TJ McConnell, his comment seems quite audacious. This season, the Bucks and Pacers have clashed five times, with Indiana securing four victories. The Pacers, with their fast pace and three-point shooting prowess, have proven to be a challenging matchup for Milwaukee and haven’t shown any intimidation towards them.
Beasley’s role in the Bucks’ lineup also makes his trash talk a bit questionable. While he is a starter, he’s primarily known as a role player, averaging 11.6 points per game, ranking sixth on the team. This leaves the responsibility of backing up his words to teammates like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and Khris Middleton. Interestingly, none of these players have publicly trash-talked the Pacers, though Antetokounmpo did make a humorous comment following their most recent loss to Indiana.
