[Saba Sports News] Buddy Boeheim’s career is on the rise as he secures a new position within the NBA. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Thursday that Boeheim, previously with Syracuse, has inked a two-year, two-way deal with the Detroit Pistons. Up until now, Boeheim has been showcasing his skills in the NBA G League, playing for the Pistons’ affiliate team, the Motor City Cruise.
At 24, the son of Syracuse’s famed coach Jim Boeheim, Buddy went undrafted in 2022 despite his four-year tenure with the Orange. However, he’s made a significant impact in the G League, boasting an impressive average of 15.6 points per game with shooting splits of 46/44/95 this season.
This new contract offers Boeheim the flexibility to move between playing for the Cruise in the G League and stepping up to the NBA with the Pistons. Despite facing criticism during his time at Syracuse, Boeheim’s professional dedication is paving the way for potential appearances on the court with the Pistons, who currently hold an 8-46 record.
