[Saba Sports News] Indian women’s cricket team bowlers Deepti Sharma and Titas Sadhu have made significant progress in the latest ICC T20I bowler rankings, updated on January 9. Deepti Sharma climbed four places, now holding the second spot with 723 rating points, just ahead of South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba who has 722 points. Additionally, Sharma solidified her position at fourth in the all-rounder rankings.
Titas Sadhu, on the other hand, made an impressive jump of 50 places to rank 92nd in the bowling rankings with 358 rating points. This major leap is attributed to their standout performances in the T20I series against Australia.
In the batting rankings, Australia’s captain Alyssa Healy returned to the top 10, while India’s Smriti Mandhana reclaimed her position at fourth.
In the recent T20I series between India and Australia, both teams delivered thrilling performances. India secured the first match, Australia the second, leading to a decider in Navi Mumbai. In the final T20I on December 9, India batted first, with openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana contributing 26 and 29 runs, respectively, and Richa Ghosh adding 34 runs, taking India to 147 runs in the first innings.
Australia, in their chase, saw stellar performances from Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney, both scoring half-centuries, leading the team to a seven-wicket victory and clinching the series.
