Sports News] According to British media reports, a recent study suggests that
artificial intelligence (AI) has reached a level in designing football tactics
that often surpasses human-designed tactics. This surprising finding raises the
possibility that coaches could be replaced by AI in the future. The study
involved Google DeepMind, an AI company, using their tools to analyze over
7,000 corner kicks from Liverpool, coached by Jurgen Klopp. Based on this
analysis, the AI system developed new tactical routines, which were then
evaluated by Premier League analysts. Interestingly, the analysts, unaware of
whether the routines were designed by humans or AI, preferred the ones created by
AI. Out of 50 tactical routines, 45 were selected, accounting for 90% of the
choices. This tool, known as TacticAI, is seen as a foundation for future AI
football assistants.
