[Saba Sports News] Eintracht Frankfurt has recently honored the former legendary Manchester United coach, Sir Alex Ferguson, by awarding him a lifetime membership. According to reports, Frankfurt visited Ferguson following their European Conference League match against Aberdeen in December. Along with the lifetime membership, the club presented Ferguson with a No. 10 jersey bearing his name. Ferguson, who is now 82 years old, made a significant impact during a pre-season friendly in 1967 when he scored a hat-trick for Rangers against Eintracht Frankfurt. As a coach, his Aberdeen team faced Eintracht Frankfurt in the 1979/80 UEFA Cup, resulting in a 2-1 loss for Aberdeen. However, Ferguson went on to achieve unparalleled success at Manchester United, winning a total of 38 major trophies. Although Ferguson did not have the opportunity to face Eintracht Frankfurt during his coaching career, he led Manchester United to a famous victory over Bayern Munich in the 1998/99 Champions League final. Mario Basler opened the scoring for Bayern Munich, but Manchester United staged a stunning comeback with two goals in stoppage time. Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were the heroes who secured Manchester United’s first European championship since 1968 and the club’s first-ever Champions League title.
