Sports News] A while back, during a parliamentary session, a Ghanaian Member of
Parliament delivered a speech in which he used Manchester United’s current
Premier League star, Harry Maguire, as an example to criticize Vice President
Maguire. The MP mockingly referred to him as a member of the team who posed the
biggest threat, as he would tackle his teammates and even help them score own
goals. These remarks were aimed at accusing Vice President Maguire of being
unhelpful to the country, just like the Premier League player. Once this
passage was leaked, it garnered attention internationally. In a recent interview,
the MP apologized to Harry Maguire, acknowledging that his comments were
unintentional and recognizing Maguire’s skills as a very good player. It is
worth noting that this is not the first time Maguire has faced such ridicule.
He has previously been mocked for a few errors while representing the England
national team. However, his teammates have consistently come to his defense.
