[Saba Sports News] Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James captivated not just fans but also an opponent this Friday. In a closely contested game at FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee, the Lakers edged out the Memphis Grizzlies 123-120. Despite the Grizzlies being significantly depleted with 13 players listed as injured, they nearly clinched the game but were thwarted by James’ clutch performance in the final moments.
Grizzlies rookie GG Jackson, who topped Memphis’ scoring with 31 points, shared his awe of James post-game, sounding more like an enthusiastic fan than a competitor.
“It was cool to see him take over a game. I’m not going to lie. That was badass. Sorry mom for cussing. But that was badass. That goes to show again, you know, the greatness that he has,” Jackson expressed.
At 19 years old, Jackson, who was born after James entered the NBA, admirably matched up against the veteran, scoring 31 points, including 7 three-pointers. Meanwhile, James led the Lakers with 37 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jackson’s candid and youthful enthusiasm has resonated before, similar to his viral reaction to praise from Shaquille O’Neal.
