Sports News] Korean media outlets have expressed dissatisfaction with Cristiano
Ronaldo’s perceived differential treatment of fans. Recently, Riyadh Victory
had planned a trip to China for a friendly match against local clubs. However,
due to Ronaldo’s injury, the match had to be postponed as he was unable to
participate. This left many fans who had traveled long distances to see Ronaldo
play feeling disappointed. Subsequently, Riyadh Victory held a press conference
where Cristiano Ronaldo made an appearance and apologized to Chinese fans for
his absence. However, this gesture has sparked discontent among Korean netizens
and fans. They believe that Ronaldo’s treatment of fans in China differs from
his previous behavior in 2019 when his club had a tour in South Korea. Back
then, it was initially expected that Ronaldo would participate in the event,
but he ended up sitting on the bench throughout the entire game and did not
engage in a fan meeting afterwards. Many Korean fans and netizens felt that
Ronaldo disregarded the fans’ expectations. Now, a similar situation has
unfolded in China, but Ronaldo’s attitude seems to be completely different,
which is a stark contrast to his behavior in South Korea.
