[Saba Sports News] The Los Angeles Lakers might be setting too high a price for Dejounte Murray, potentially missing out on a trade opportunity.
Reports indicate that the Atlanta Hawks are open to trading Murray and have been discussing a potential deal with the Lakers.
However, Austin Reaves is not part of these trade talks. As per Dan Woike of the LA Times, discussions have not included Reaves, with the Lakers showing little interest in parting with their young guard.
It’s also noted that the Hawks considered trading Murray to the New York Knicks for Immanuel Quickley and a first-round pick.
Reaves stands as the Lakers’ most promising young asset for trades. Given the team’s limited draft resources, including Reaves seems like a necessary step to secure Murray for the Lakers.
At 25, Reaves is on a cost-effective contract and has built a rapport with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, something not many Lakers’ role players have managed.
Despite this, the Lakers seem reluctant to trade Reaves for Murray, viewing it as a risky move.
