[Saba Sports News] During the third round of the
Champions League group stage this week, Manchester City made an adjustment to
their preparation schedule to acclimate to the artificial turf at their away
game destination. They arrived one day ahead of schedule at the Young Boys
Stadium in Bern for on-field training. In previous Champions League away
matches, Josep Guardiola had refrained from field training to avoid revealing
tactical secrets and instead opted for game preparation at the club’s training
facility. In past seasons, numerous Premier League stars who visited the Young
Boys Stadium in Bern had expressed dissatisfaction with the turf’s quality,
citing difficulties in decelerating after sprinting and an increased risk of
injury.
