Sports News] The year 2026 is set to bring significant updates to Formula 1,
and teams have received both positive and negative news regarding the changes.
Aston Martin team principal, Mike Krack, recently discussed the new 2026 F1
regulations in an interview with the media, urging for their prompt implementation.
Krack emphasized the importance of establishing the regulations early, stating,
“While they may not be perfect yet, having a starting point is crucial.
The weight limit, car structure, tire size, and other details need to be
defined. There is still much work to be done, so we shouldn’t delay it for too
long.” Although some specifics remain undisclosed, the direction of the
new regulations has been determined. The focus of the 2026 changes in F1 will
revolve around environmental sustainability and weight reduction. The use of
fully sustainable fuels will replace burning fossil fuels, and the amount of
fuel consumed by each car in a race will be reduced to 70 kilograms.
Additionally, battery recycling will be mandatory, with cobalt from motors required
to be recycled after its lifecycle. The implementation of these regulations
will impact the car’s power output, resulting in a limitation on maximum power
and a decrease in speed.
