Sports News] During a recent media interview, Adrian Newey, the legendary
designer of Red Bull Racing, disclosed a previously unknown secret. It was
revealed that Ferrari had extended job offers to him on two separate occasions,
in 1993 and 2014. The Italian team had offered Newey a substantial salary to
join them as a designer. However, he ultimately declined both offers. Newey’s
decision stemmed from his strong sense of belonging within his team at the time
and the deep friendships he had formed with its members. He had no intention of
leaving. Today, Newey is widely regarded as the premier designer in Formula 1.
His designs have earned numerous accolades, and the cars he has created have
won over 80 Grand Prix races. As an F1 engineer, he holds the record for
winning the Constructors’ Championship 11 times, a feat accomplished with three
different teams. After designing championship-winning cars for Williams and
McLaren, Newey joined Red Bull Racing, where he played a pivotal role in
securing six drivers’ titles and five constructors’ championships.
