[Saba Sports News] After the T20I series between India and South Africa ended 1-1, the caravan will now move to ODIs with the first match scheduled to be played on December 17 in Johannesburg.
As the ODI series will coincide with India’s three-day practice match leading up to the first Test, the Rahul Dravid-led coaching staff will not be available for the remaining white-ball assignment.
Dravid and other full-time India coaches will oversee India’s preparations for the red-ball game, which will take place in Pretoria from December 20 to December 22.
As reported by Cricbuzz, the National Cricket Academy staff will act as the substitute, particularly for the three-match ODI series. Sitanshu Kotak will be the head coach, while Ajay Ratra and Rajib Dutta will play the role of the fielding and bowling coaches respectively.
Notably, India have never won a Test series in South Africa. This will be the second time that they will be playing Test matches in South Africa under Dravid’s coaching. In 2021-22, India had lost the series 1-2.
