This reward was given in recognition of his excellent performance at the Asian Games, held at the Indira Gandhi Pratisthan in Lucknow, as reported by Amar Ujaala. Alongside his medal, Rinku was acknowledged with this cash prize by the Indira Gandhi Foundation of Lucknow.
Additionally, the report mentioned a Rs 75 lakh prize for talented runner Gulveer Singh. Rinku’s decision to gift a car to his father, Khanchandra Singh, comes in the wake of his rising fame, particularly after his notable contributions to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2023. Videos of his father working as a gas cylinder deliveryman gained attention amidst Rinku’s IPL success, highlighting the family’s humble beginnings.
Rinku Singh’s cricketing career has been on an upward trajectory lately. His impressive IPL performances earned him a debut in India’s T20 team, where he has excelled. In 15 T20Is, Rinku has scored 356 runs at an average of 89. With the T20 World Cup approaching, his role as a finisher is becoming increasingly important, making his inclusion in the team potentially crucial for India’s success.
