[Saba Sports News] In the just-concluded UEFA Champions League group stage,
Italian Serie A team Lazio defeated Scottish Premiership team Celtic 2-0 at
home. Despite Celtic’s loss in the match, they were fortunate enough to witness
Pope Francis. During the visit, the Celtic club went to the Vatican, where Celtic’s
manager Brendan Rodgers presented Pope Francis with a Celtic jersey bearing his
name. Subsequently, Pope Francis delivered an inspirational speech to Celtic,
saying, “Although winning a game is indeed more popular than losing, it is
not the most important thing! What matters more is the example you set on and
off the field, whether in victory or defeat. This exemplifies the virtues of
courage, perseverance, generosity, and respect for the dignity of others that
God has bestowed upon us.” It is known that Pope Francis is currently ill,
suffering from a mild flu, and initially had no plans to meet with outsiders.
However, upon Celtic’s earnest request, Pope Francis agreed to meet with them.
