[Saba Sports News] India and South Africa collide for the decider of the three-match ODI series, scheduled on December 21 at Boland Park, Paarl.
India named two changes in their playing XI, including a forced one. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad sustained a finger injury while fielding in the second ODI of the ongoing series and therefore, he has been excluded from the XI.
“UPDATE – Ruturaj Gaikwad hasn’t fully recovered from the blow he sustained to his ring finger while fielding in the second ODI. He remains under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team,” BCCI tweeted.
In Gaikwad’s place, Rajat Patidar has received the India cap and is about to make his debut in international cricket.
In another change, Kuldeep Yadav has been rested. Washington Sundar has filled in that vacant spot, playing his first match on the tour.
After India drubbed the Proteas in the first ODI, the hosts made a stunning comeback in the following match, leveling the series 1-1.
