[Saba Sports News] Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has announced he will be unavailable for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand due to a shoulder injury.
He plans to start rehabilitation soon and aims to be fit for the three T20Is during Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand in December. Consequently, Taskin will also miss the ODI series against New Zealand, which begins on December 17, following the second Test.
Taskin sustained a shoulder tear during the World Cup, affecting his performance and causing him to miss several matches. He expressed his intention to skip the Test series against New Zealand for rehabilitation, with hopes of returning for the T20Is.
Bangladesh is also facing challenges with Shakib Al Hasan missing the Test series due to a fractured finger and uncertainty around Tamim Iqbal’s participation following a back injury. Taskin acknowledged that internal team disturbances, particularly between Shakib and Tamim before the World Cup, were not conducive to the team’s performance.
Taskin also mentioned the departure of fast bowling coach Allan Donald post-World Cup, acknowledging his positive influence and support for the fast bowlers. Taskin praised Donald’s coaching and expressed his best wishes for Donald’s future endeavors.
