[Saba Sports News] Wasim Akram recently shared an intriguing insight about South African cricketer David Miller, revealing that Miller delayed his wedding to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024, where he played for Fortune Barishal.
Akram highlighted that Miller received an offer of $150,000 to play in the final three matches of the BPL, contributing significantly to his team’s first championship title. This revelation came amidst discussions on a cricket show, where Akram expressed his surprise upon learning about Miller’s commitment to the league over his personal milestones.
“I just found out today because we were discussing who won the BPL and we were not following because of the PSL. David Miller was offered $150,000 to play three matches. He postponed his wedding,” Akram revealed on A Sports’ ‘The Pavillion’ show.
Additionally, Akram shared his views on a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match incident involving Abdullah Shafique’s unique celebration post an impressive catch, suggesting a dramatic flair in his actions that seemed to silence critics.
However, Akram critiqued this gesture, linking it to the broader context of recent performances and suggesting that Shafique might be better suited to drama than cricket. This comment came as Islamabad United, Shafique’s team, progresses to the knockout stages of PSL 2024, with a forthcoming match against Quetta Gladiators in Karachi.
