[Saba Sports News] India captain Rohit Sharma finally went off the mark in the third T20I of the ongoing series against Afghanistan after scoring ducks in the previous two matches.
Rohit guided the ball to the third man for a single in the second over of the innings and heaved a sigh of relief as he scored his first T20I run in the last 14 months.
If not for umpire Virender Sharma’s goof-up, the 36-year-old would have achieved this in the first over of the match itself when he flicked the ball to fine leg for a boundary.
However, Virender adjudged this a leg-bye, leading to a hilarious conversation.
“Arey viru, thigh-pad diya kya pehla four? Bat laga tha! (Hey Viru, did
you signal for the thigh pad on the first four? I clearly touched the bat!)”
