[Saba Sports News] After the World Cup disappointment, another important assignment awaits Pakistan as they are scheduled to play a three-match Test series Down Under, starting on December 14.
It also marks Shan Masood’s debut series as Test captain as he has taken over the leadership from Babar Azam.
The Pakistani team has already landed in Australia and just hours after their arrival, photos of their players loading their own luggage has stirred a controversy.
To clear the air around the matter, Shaheen Shah Afridi gave a reasoning behind the Pakistani players helping out in loading their luggage, sharing that they had a flight to catch in 30 minutes and wanted to save time.
“We only had 30 minutes to catch our next flight and we helped because there were just two people. We wanted to wrap it up fast and save time. We call this team a family and helped them as a family,” Afridi said as quoted by The News.
Before the Test series starts, Pakistan will also play a warm-up four-day game against the Prime Minister’s XI at Canberra.
“We don’t have much experience of Canberra, but I am sure this four-day match against PM XI will help us prepare well for the series against the home team starting from Perth,” he added.
