Sports News] According to reports from Italian media, two Brighton fans who had
arrived in Rome were robbed and unfortunately stabbed. The incident occurred on
March 7, local time, as the fans were preparing to attend the first leg of the
Europa League round of 16 match between Roma and Buenos Aires, scheduled to
take place later that day at 18:45 local time. The incident took place in the
Monti area of Rome, specifically in a restaurant on via Monte Polacco. An
employee of the restaurant contacted the police after two young British fans
sought help. The fans reported that they had been surrounded by a group of six
or seven individuals who robbed them of their wallets and documents, and also
inflicted multiple stab wounds. One of the fans, a 28-year-old, sustained three
injuries on his left thigh and was taken to San Giovanni Hospital for
treatment. The other fan, aged 29, was stabbed on his right thigh and was sent
to a different hospital for medical attention. The police have initiated an
investigation to identify the individuals responsible for the attack.
