[Saba Sports News] The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 on Friday, which will be hosted by the Caribbean and the USA.
The 20-team tournament will commence on June 1 with the clash between the USA and Canada in Barbados.
Four groups of five sides each have been drawn. India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and the USA form Group A. England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland and Oman have been placed in Group B. New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea are slotted in Group C, while South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Netherlands make Group D.
India will begin their campaign on June 5 with the match scheduled against Ireland in New York. The big-ticket clash between India and Pakistan will be held in New York on June 9. The Men in Blue will play their remaining two games versus the USA and Canada on June 12 and June 15 respectively.
Two teams from each of these groups will qualify for the Super 8 round, where these sides will be divided into two groups of four each. The top two teams from each group will book their place for the semis, slated to take place on June 26 and June 26 in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago respectively.
Barbados will host the summit clash of the competition on June 29.
