[Saba Sports News] Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik humorously reacted to a post by a social media user, who highlighted that former England captain Michael Vaughan mistakenly called him “Dennis Karthik” in a video clip. This amusing exchange comes ahead of the five-match Test series between India and England starting in Hyderabad on January 25. Karthik and Vaughan, known for their camaraderie, are expected to share commentary duties during the series, having formed a strong rapport over the past two years in the commentary panel.
Responding to the post on the social media platform, Karthik playfully thanked Vaughan for the “new nickname.”
Meanwhile, in the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has retained Dinesh Karthik for the 2024 season. Despite a lukewarm performance in the previous season, scoring 140 runs in 13 matches, RCB has shown faith in the 38-year-old for his second stint with the team. Karthik recently competed in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Tamil Nadu, scoring 245 runs in six innings, including two half-centuries. His career spans 26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 60 T20Is, with over 3000 runs including a century and 17 half-centuries.
RCB’s full squad for IPL 2024 features players like Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, and new additions including Cameron Green and Alzarri Joseph, as the team aims for its first IPL title.
