[Saba Sports News] The New York Knicks maintain a positive outlook on Julius Randle’s recovery, confirming he will be sidelined for weeks rather than months due to a shoulder injury. On Thursday, the team disclosed that Randle, their prominent forward and two-time All-Star, suffered a dislocated right shoulder and is set for re-evaluation in two to three weeks.
Randle’s injury occurred on January 27 during a game against the Miami Heat, following an encounter with Miami’s Jaime Jaquez Jr., leading to an awkward fall. Given the timing of the All-Star break, it’s unlikely Randle will return to play before February 22, when the Knicks face Philadelphia in their post-break opener.
Despite Randle’s absence, the Knicks have continued their strong performance, securing consecutive wins and extending their winning streak to eight games. The team has adapted by promoting Josh Hart to the starting lineup, expanding Precious Achiuwa’s role off the bench, and distributing the offensive responsibilities among Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, and Isaiah Hartenstein. This adaptability highlights the Knicks’ resilience, as they’ve surged to a 31-17 record, positioning themselves third in the Eastern Conference, even in the face of significant injuries.
