[Saba Sports News] Zach LaVine might be heading to the Pacific Division, but possibly not to the team many expect. According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings are teams to watch in the potential trade chase for the Chicago Bulls’ star. With the NBA trade deadline set for February 8, there’s widespread anticipation that the Bulls will trade LaVine.
The Warriors, currently at 17-18, are facing challenges in their backcourt, particularly after Chris Paul’s recent hand fracture expected to keep him sidelined for several weeks. Another key guard for Golden State is also absent for an extended period. Meanwhile, the Kings, with a better 21-13 record, are seemingly in search of a new backcourt partner for De’Aaron Fox. Additionally, Sacramento has retained their prime trade assets after recently withdrawing from a bid for another All-Star.
Although the market for LaVine is relatively quiet at the moment, many speculate he could join the Los Angeles Lakers, especially given his ties to Klutch Sports and his UCLA background. However, at 28, LaVine might find the Lakers unable to match the trade offers from teams like Sacramento or Golden State. This could lead the Lakers to consider other, slightly less prominent stars for acquisition.
