[Saba Sports News] Pascal Siakam might be heading to a team that coincidentally shares the same initial as his nickname, ‘Spicy P’. According to NBA veteran reporter Marc Stein’s recent Substack page, the Indiana Pacers are emerging as a strong contender for Siakam, a key trade candidate from the Toronto Raptors.
Stein notes that the Pacers have been the most frequently mentioned team in league discussions as a potential destination for the 29-year-old All-Star, who is in his contract’s final year with Toronto. With the Raptors recently trading OG Anunoby and President Masai Ujiri hinting at an end to Siakam’s tenure in Toronto, a trade before the February 8 deadline seems increasingly likely.
The Pacers, currently 23-16 and coming off an In-Season Tournament final, are looking to contend immediately. They have a notable gap at the power forward position, where Siakam excels. This spot is currently shared by Jalen Smith and Obi Toppin. Indiana also possesses attractive assets for a potential trade with Toronto, including players they have been considering trading.
