Sports News] Xavi Simons, a 20-year-old player who emerged from Barcelona’s
youth training, officially joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2019. In the
summer of 2022, Simons left PSG and transferred to PSV Eindhoven on a free
transfer due to limited playing time. During that season, Simons made 49
appearances for PSV, scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists. In the summer
transfer window of 2023, PSG exercised their €4 million buy-back clause for
Xavi Simons to bring him back to the club. However, due to a crowded position
in the team, PSG immediately loaned him out to RB Leipzig. In the current
season, Simons has played 25 games across various competitions for Leipzig,
contributing six goals and nine assists. Recently, the Transfermarkt assessed
the value of players from the top five leagues, with the 20-year-old winger
Xavi Simons now valued at €70 million. PSG’s repurchase of Simons for €4
million has proven to be a profitable transaction, considering the significant
increase in his market value.
