[Saba Sports News] On the second day of the India vs England Test in Visakhapatnam on February 3rd, India’s captain Rohit Sharma was overheard on the stump mic using profane language towards his teammates.
“Koi bhi garden me ghoomega to, ##########’, Rohit was heard saying on the stump mic.
This occurred at the close of the 31st over, with England’s score at 143/4, where Rohit was emphatically urging his team to maintain their alertness on the field, reflecting his frustration with their previous performance.
India had suffered a 28-run defeat in the second innings of the Hyderabad Test due to a lackluster performance, which Rohit aimed to avoid repeating in Visakhapatnam by keeping the team’s intensity high.
During the match, India began Day 2 at 336/6, with Yashasvi Jaiswal resuming at an overnight score of 179. Jaiswal went on to score his maiden Test double century, becoming the third youngest player to reach this milestone, only to be dismissed for 209 as he tried to accelerate the scoring. India concluded their innings at 396, with England’s James Anderson taking 3/47.
England’s response started strong, with openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett putting on 59 runs quickly. India’s first breakthrough came when Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Duckett.
Crawley’s innings continued impressively until he was caught by Shreyas Iyer’s outstanding fielding effort. Rohit Sharma reintroduced Jasprit Bumrah into the attack, who successfully claimed the wickets of Joe Root, Ollie Pope, and Jonny Bairstow, reducing England to 159/5 after 36 overs.
