[Saba Sports News] South Africa extended their dominance over India, putting another session on their kitty on the morning of Day 3 of the ongoing Test against India being played at the SuperSport Park, Centurion.
34 overs were bowled in the session with South Africa maintaining a healthy run-rate, adding 136 more runs to their overnight lead of 11.
Dean Elgar scored a 150, however, missed out on a chance to bring up his maiden double-century in the Test format by just 15 runs. Shardul Thakur dismissed Elgar against the run of play as the latter gloved the ball behind to KL Rahul, ending the 111-run partnership for the sixth wicket in the process.
Gerald Coetzee came out all guns blazing. He smashed a humongous six to Prasidh Krishna but soon after became a victim of Ravichandran Ashwin, who also contributed to the wickets tally.
Marco Jansen emerged as the stand-out performer. He brought his batting ability to the fore, smashing his second fifty in Test cricket. He is batting unbeaten on his highest individual score of 72 runs in the Test format.
At lunch, the Proteas are at 392/7, leading by 147 runs.
